Laser Eye Surgery:

Changing the Way You View Your World Forever

Are you tired of wearing glasses or contact lenses? Maybe it's time to consider Laser Eye Surgery to add a whole new dimension of convenience and comfort to your everyday activities. By reducing or eliminating dependence on corrective eye wear, everything you view, and do, becomes just a little bit easier. Could this be the year you join the satisfied millions who have already undergone Laser Eye Surgery?

Laser Eye Surgery permanently changes the shape of the front surface of the eye, the cornea, to alter the way images focus inside your eyes. Basic, or conventional laser technology corrects the same types of defocus errors that glasses or contact lenses do. Now, with Custom Cornea treatment technology, it adds an enhanced refinement not available with prescription lenses or with conventional laser technology: it treats fine irregularities in vision, known as higher order aberrations, in addition to the defocus error. The result is improved visual acuity and visual quality.

Laser surgery is a two step process:

Phase 1:

  • Removal of the outer layer of the cornea which regrows during recovery

Phase 2:

  • Permanent reshaping of the middle layer of the cornea then changes the way you focus
    • Custom Cornea Wavefront treatment - Dr. Demong uses only this technology for his laser treatments when your correction is within the FDA/HPB approved treatment range.
    • Conventional, Non-Wavefront treatment

Dr. Demong will recommend the combination of surface treatment and reshaping treatment that best meets your needs depending upon the condition of your eyes and the type of vision error you have. Most common combinations include: IntraLASIK with Custom Cornea or PRK with Custom Cornea.
