BJM: Surgery October/10
It took me about three years to decide whether I wanted to have lens surgery with the multifocal implants - afterall, these are my EYES! Finally, I needed to replace my glasses and decided that I would rather just have my vision fixed. Dr. Demong reassured me that I was a good candidate and he answered all my questions openly. On the day of surgery, I was confident to be in his hands and felt calm as his staff went about my preparation methodically and attentively. I was amazed that there was absolutely no pain and I was able to see immediately after surgery. Imagine - no pain, no stitches, no patches and no more glasses. I was able to drive again 2 days later, returned to work after 4 days and started working out again after 2 weeks. Now, I can do everything I did before surgery and to think I'll never have to worry about glasses again. I couldn't be happier with the results!
We're pleased to have been a part of that.

Not a day goes by that I am not thankful for my new vision. It's the little things day to day - the deep colors, the clear words on a page...and I see my alarm clock every morning without my glasses - WOW - that's awesome. Thank you for the gift of my wonderful eye sight - Keep up your work!!!
KM: Surgery July/10
I must admit I had some worrisome days to begin with. Although I expected to see perfectly at any distance, I found a shortfall while working on the computer. I could see clearly for driving - in fact, 20/15 but reading took some adjusting. As Dr. Demong explained, I had to get used to seeing in a whole new way. Once I found out where I could comfortably position a book and that enlarging the font on my computer made it clearer, I felt a lot better. Now I can honestly say I can't remember what it was like before I had these new lenses.
No artificial lens is a perfect replacement for a fully functional natural lens but multifocal intraocular lenses meet a broad range of vision needs. One simply has to learn how to get the most from them and that can take anywhere from a few days to weeks to months in some cases.
