Dr. Bill P.C. Chow, Associate Physician

Bill Chow is a general ophthalmologist and eye surgeon who joined Demong Associate Eyecentre in Calgary, Alberta in 1998. He undertook a residency program in ophthalmology in Edmonton, following a practice in family medicine. "Eye surgery is very elegant by nature and is one of the most technologically advanced specialties but I never forget I'm treating a person, not just eyes." notes Bill.

Dr. Chow sees patients in all age groups and as a generalist, evaluates and treats patients with glaucoma, diabetes, infections and genetic disorders. "My patients are diverse in their needs and that presents challenges at times. It means I have to be on top of the latest medical developments and pharmaceuticals that are available." When surgery is indicated, Dr. Chow is equally prepared. Operating at Rockyview Surgery Centre,  he performs "no stitch" cataract microsurgery and pterygium removal using a technique that reduces the recurrence rate from as high as 60% to less than 2%. He also performs eyelid procedures, including cosmetic eyelid "lifts".
